My Honeymoon in Beautiful Varadero, Cuba

The best holiday I’ve ever had was my trip last summer to Varadero, Cuba. For our one-year wedding anniversary, my husband and I decided we would finally take the honeymoon we didn’t get to take following our nuptials. We booked an all-inclusive trip to the Sandals Resort in Cuba. Neither of us had travelled to the Caribbean before so it was quite an experience. We visited in August which is their rainy season but we only had a sprinkling of rain on the day we left it was perfectly sunny every other day. The beaches were beautiful and the water was like a warm, salt bath. We did a couple of excursions: one to Havana to tour around the city and take in a show at the Tropicana cabaret and another on a sailboat to do some snorkelling and to swim with dolphins. The only low point to the trip was the food. It was very bland and for a vegetarian like me there were very few options.
Next year we're looking to stay in a peak district farm cottage in the UK and do some hill walking - a very kind of different holiday than we're used to, but we like to try something new.
