When It Comes To Food, I Love Anything Italian

posted on 11 August 2012

As someone installs catering accessories in restaurants for a living, I work close to food - and it also happens to be my passion. I have many favorite foods, so this was a hard distinction to make, to choose my absolute favorite. However, after thinking about it a little bit, I decided that pasta, or any type of Italian food, was my favorite. I love the flavors, the sauces, and the variety of options. There is no shortage of pastas out there to eat, and that variety helps me to not get bored of this great type of food. I love that pasta is an affordable meal that can often taste like you spent much more time and money on it than you really did. Pasta fills you up and makes you feel full, which is also a good thing - pasta can go further than other foods because you need to eat less of it. I could go on and on with the list of reasons why pasta is my favorite food - the reasons are seemingly endless!

Beautiful People All Night Long at my Favorite Bar

posted on 6 December 2011

I have a number of favorite bars in the city. The main one I go to in Transport. I have been going there for well over 5 years. It has increased in popularity and is usually standing room only on Friday and Saturday. I prefer Friday nights after work. Sitting on the placemats, they have great drinks including exotic cocktails. I must admit I spend well over two hundred dollars on drinks each time I go out. I have met a vast number of people at the bar who I try and keep in contact with. I often feel compelled to buy them drinks as a nice gesture. None of them are interested in relationships which is a pity. Last time I was at Transport I unfortunately had too much to drink and had to depart early. I am glad I am allowed to return. I am going to limit my alcohol consumption this weekend. Another great aspect about Transport is the music. On Friday's they play a great selection of techno dance tracks.

Why The Pub Is My Second Home

posted on 24 August 2011

I walk into the doorway of the pub, the familiar smell of stale cigarettes and split alcohol welcomes me like an old friend. I look around the bar, it's slow tonight, despite that I see a few regulars. I walk up to the bartender and order my usual drink, a rum and coke, the bartender smiles at me and then busies himself making my drink. I reminisce about the pubs in the Peak District I visited when I was on my last holiday. I lean against the bar and catch the gaze of a few regulars, I wave in recognition and they wave back. That's why I love this place, people know me here. I spend so much of my life being anonymous, it's nice to be recognized for a change. I guess I have become a regular myself, drowning my problems in the bottom of a glass. This bar has become a second home of sorts, a place to take my sorrows and bury them deep so I can get through another night inside my head. The bartender places my drink on to the wooden bar, the dull sound is like music to my ears. I return my attention to the glass that has been set before me and I stare into the brown liquid, I lose myself watching the ice dance in the glass. I lift the cold glass to my lips and before I take a sip I smile, a secret smile.
